Sure!
First of all you need to know your amigurumi crocheting basics, there's lots of info on the internet, videos included.
Look at the amigurumis you like and try to figure out how they were made and try to mimic those techniques in creating something similar or completely different.
You can sketch your future amigurumi first - that helps, too.

I usually think of something I would like to make, for example an animal, look at a photo of that animal and try to make similar to the photo, but more kawaii :)
